Opinie
After spending considerable time with the Crescendo Verse, I can honestly say it is one of the most impressive pieces of audio equipment I have ever owned.
From the very first listening session, it was obvious that this wasn't just another DAC and headphone amplifier. The presentation is incredibly natural, musical, and engaging. Every recording has a sense of realism that draws you in. Vocals have texture and emotion, instruments sound full and lifelike, and the level of detail is remarkable without ever becoming clinical or fatiguing.
What impressed me most is how effortlessly the Crescendo Verse presents music. There is no artificial brightness or exaggerated detail. Instead, it reveals nuances in recordings in a way that feels completely natural. The soundstage is expansive, imaging is precise, and every instrument occupies its own space. Whether I'm listening to jazz, classical, rock, or acoustic music, the experience is consistently immersive.
The built in headphone amplifier is equally outstanding. It drives every headphone I've connected with authority and control while remaining whisper quiet with more sensitive headphones. Bass is deep and well controlled, the midrange is rich and expressive, and the highs are smooth, extended, and never harsh. Long listening sessions are simply enjoyable.
The craftsmanship deserves special recognition. The chassis feels incredibly solid, the controls have a premium feel, and every aspect of the design reflects careful engineering and attention to detail. It looks every bit as impressive as it sounds.
What surprised me most is how quickly I stopped evaluating the equipment and simply started enjoying my music collection again. Albums I've heard hundreds of times suddenly revealed subtle details and emotional depth I hadn't fully appreciated before. That, to me, is the hallmark of truly exceptional audio gear.
The Crescendo Verse has become the centerpiece of my desktop system, and I have no desire to continue searching for "the next upgrade." It delivers a level of performance that rivals components costing substantially more while offering an exceptional listening experience every single day.
Congratulations to the entire LAiV team. You have created something truly special.
A few weeks ago, I finally pulled the trigger on the LAiV Crescendo Verse as a DAC and headphone amp for my ZMF Atrium Open. I’d been going back and forth between this and the Luxsin X8/9, but since the Atrium already leans toward the softer, warmer side, I thought the slightly more analytical Verse would balance it nicely.
The Luxsin probably would have been great too, but honestly, I wasn’t in the mood for tweaking and fine-tuning. And design matters to me—I love how clean and minimalist the Verse looks. Aside from my wireless DALI IO-12, the Atrium is basically the only headphone I use, and I just want to sit back and enjoy the music—mainly classical and jazz. The Atrium is super easy to drive, naturally balanced, and doesn’t need any EQ—I’ve never even touched it.
The VERSE delivers an almost analog, highly detailed musical presentation. The treble, especially with violin music, never sounds harsh. The bass is full and controlled, while vocals come across as rich, emotional, and engaging. The stereo image feels wide and spacious, with excellent instrument placement.
The build quality is outstanding, and despite its compact size, the VERSE offers an extensive range of connections and features: DAC, preamplifier, and headphone amplifier, all in one elegant device.
The discrete Class A circuitry provides refinement and delivers a surprising amount of power, especially through the balanced Pentaconn (4.4 mm) output.
I’m using the Verse purely as a headphone amp, and together with the Atrium, it’s just magic. The Atrium stays lush and immersive, while the Verse keeps things from becoming too thick or heavy. You get warmth and emotion on one side, precision and control on the other, and it all just clicks. Nothing overpowers the other—it simply feels right.
As far as I can tell, the LAiV Crescendo Verse has a solid power supply, but I want to get the most out of it and plan to pick up the LAiV Crescendo BEAT LPS when it launches in a few weeks.
Today, the Crescendo VERSE arrived from LAIV.
I am already using LAIV’s HP2A for my headphone system, and the µDAC and µDDC for my speaker system setup. So I plan to use the newly purchased Crescendo VERSE in my office during break times.
Of course, before that, I’ll be running various tests at home. Given the nature of R2R circuitry, I expect it will require an appropriate amount of burn‑in time.
What impressed me right away is that the build quality is remarkably good for the price. LAIV’s excellent equipment has always met my expectations, and I trust that this new product will do the same.
P.S)
For driving the LCD‑5, the MID gain setting is more than sufficient.
With the gain set to LOW, it delivers a clean, noise‑free background when using sensitive IEMs.
