That's the price you can pay for the LAiV Crescendo VERSE. An excellent D/A converter. A very good headphone amplifier. And solid volume control. Not for 18-25 thousand, but in general. The Crescendo VERSE is a luxuriously crafted compact device with plenty of digital inputs and, conversely, a minimum of character of its own – the sound is full of energy, solid confidence, lively explosiveness, and a sense of control that is not invasive, so the sound does not come across as technical, but wonderfully present and "live". The value of the Crescendo VERSE is great – it wasn't so long ago that many boutique "Western" companies would have added x times that amount to the price tag of such a device, which is brutal. On the other hand, let's be happy about technological developments, modern knowledge, and the fact that you can have a truly clean, faithful, and "living" signal for such great money and in such a small footprint.”
