Steve Huff Names the Harmony DAC 2 His DAC of the Year 2026
A big thank you to Steve Huff for spending countless hours and nights with the Harmony DAC 2. Steve was one of the first to hear the original Harmony DAC back in 2024, so few people are better placed to answer the question in his headline: is it better? His long-running site has guided music lovers for years, and his reviews are known for honest, hands-on listening across a wide range of systems.
His answer is yes. Steve found the DAC 2 "more refined than the original. Matured even," with a lower noise floor and a richer, smoother, more spatial presentation. The new SRC mode surprised him most: on one track he heard an instrument in full 3D space a few feet in front of his speakers, and that is how he listened for most of the review. He sums it up as a DAC that "soothes the soul and hits the heart," and named it his DAC of the Year 2026 with his Gold Award. We are genuinely honoured.

He also had warm words for the new colour display and the far simpler menu, the ability to use the XLR and RCA outputs together, and the all-metal remote that comes in the box.
Steve was open about his personal preferences too. He would still choose four feet over our three-point design, and silver accents over gold, and he was clear that neither is a dealbreaker. Feedback like this on how people live with our products day to day is always welcome, and we take it on board.
