We’re delighted to share a glowing video review of the Harmony µDAC by Bruce from The Boomer Consumer. Known for his honest and down-to-earth takes, Bruce praised the µDAC as a beautifully built, warm-sounding R-2R DAC that delivers serious performance for its price. He highlighted its premium packaging, solid aluminum build, intuitive interface, and high-end sound, calling it “audio jewelry” that’s simple to use and satisfying to hear.
Bruce paired the Harmony µDAC with gear from SMSL and HIFIMAN, noting a rich, slightly warm sound that still revealed excellent detail and dynamics. From jazz vocals to classic tracks like Summer Breeze, he felt the DAC delivered natural imaging, solid bass, and fatigue-free highs. Compared to some Delta-Sigma DACs, he found the Harmony µDAC to be more emotionally engaging and musically satisfying.
Some trade-offs he noted included the lack of RCA output and preamp functionality, plus the use of USB-B instead of USB-C. However, he emphasized these are understandable for a purpose-built, fully balanced DAC focused on sound quality. For those building a desktop or compact stereo setup, he considers it a top contender around the $1,000 mark.
Thank you, Bruce, for the kind words and detailed review and congratulations again on your health milestone! 🎶
