Harmony DAC

After a long and fruitless attempt to buy this wonderful product locally at a reasonable price via the local distributor, which turned out to be not deserving of my trust at all, I decided to order direct from the LAIV website. The experience was excellent. Laiv not only excels at providing accurate and adequate order status information, they go the extra mile and personally and individually verify with you every step from the moment of ordering down to installation, listening experience and warranty registration.

The product itself is fantastic. I had a decent setup already, but replacing my entry level DAC with this R2R beauty made a huge improvement to sound staging and detail. The musicality is hard to overexaggerate, and contrary to many other R2R dacs, doesn't come at the cost of detailing and sound stage depth. I don't like to use the term 'warm', but I'd say this DAC makes everything sound authentic, and it does that for all sort of music genres, from modern hyperproduced songs like Billie Eilish and Kylie Minogue via RAYE, Duran Duran, Blondie and Pink Floyd to The Cure, I am Kloot acoustics and Pigeon Detectives, to Amy Winehouse, Miles Davis's Kind of Blue, Canonball Adderly's brilliant Something Else (hard-panned stereo version), and even Beasty Boys, Limp Bizkit or Rage Against the Machine. Natalie Merchant and Dominique Fils-Aime never sounded better. I recommend those two artists in particular, and the album HUMANiSE by HAAi too, if you want to toy around with OS versus NOS mode.

If you consider this DAC, I'd urge you to consider adding the uDDC as well. I did so a few weeks later, and that again provided a major step up in terms of quality. It particularly made everything sound more relaxed, more in place, grounded if that makes sense, and even more easy to listen to for longer. There's no roll-off, no loss of clarity without the uDDC, but I certainly hear better instrument separation and as said, an even higher level of comfort and ease across the entire frequency spectrum with the uDDC in the chain.

This is an incredible DAC.When you listen to music, it envelops you like a bubble.Such an analogue in its presentation...These ladders will drive you crazy!This is my best purchase! I bought it a year ago.It's just enjoying the music!Thanks to the developers!I also bought a DDC, but that's another story!

The striking industrial design reflects the care taken in every aspect of this little gem. It sounds as good as it looks.

I bought the Harmony DAC to improve the presentation of my modest streamer/DAC combo. I hadn't expected it to match or exceed the sonics of my main cd player. But it has. This is a great sounding DAC that surprises me every day.

I should also mention that my entire experience with the team at LAiV has been very satisfying. They are prompt, professional, and cheerful; just extremely nice. Keep up the good work!
