    Better than the hype

    I've just received my unit & left it on default settings out of the box for a quick evaluation. The microDAC has a better sound stage, instrument separation & bass response than my builtin DAC in the amplifier (Sabre chipset) and a high-end external DAC (AKM chipset). The microDAC is also warmer & clearer than the other DACs. It does restrain some high frequencies so if you like bright sounds, then this DAC may not be for you but for most listeners the microDAC is an instant boost to the sound quality in your system.

    End Game DAC for Me

    I have not listened to this DAC by itself, buy with the Laiv uDDC its sounds more clear, less fatiguing and warmer than the Denafrips (Hermes 12th and Pontus II 12th) units in 7 out of the 8 test tracks that I tested with.

    I personally enjoy the foot print and price of this DAC compared to others. I am glad this unit has the I2S input. I do not need to shop for any more DACs.
