Big thanks to Hans Beekhuyzen for putting the LAiV Crescendo Verse through a thorough evaluation on The Hans Beekhuyzen Channel. With over 104,000 subscribers and years of methodical, no-nonsense audio reviews, Hans brings the kind of measured perspective that the audiophile community trusts. When he opens up a product and walks through the engineering, you know the assessment is grounded in what actually matters.

Hans spent real time with the Verse, exploring everything from the fully balanced R2R architecture and discrete Class A output stage to the extensive menu system. What stood out to him was the transformation that happens when you pair the Verse with a quality linear power supply. In his words, the soundstage opens up, the stereo image becomes "royal," and the low end gains a presence that left a genuine impression. He placed the Verse at the "top set of two" in his evaluation hierarchy with that pairing, concluding it delivers what he called "oodles of quality" for the price.

One thing Hans noted, and we appreciate the honesty, is that the stock switch-mode power supply keeps the Verse in solid but not exceptional territory for its price class. It is a fair observation. The Verse was designed to perform well out of the box, and it does, but we have always believed that a quality power supply unlocks its full potential. It is one of the reasons we are developing the Crescendo BEAT, our own linear PSU, to give listeners a purpose-built path to that next level without having to source third-party solutions.
