High Fidelity Reviews the Crescendo Verse: "A Real Gem"

Big thanks to Wojciech Pacuła and the team at High Fidelity for putting the Crescendo Verse through a truly rigorous evaluation. High Fidelity is one of Poland's most respected audiophile publications, running since 2004 and a founding member of the Association of International Audiophile Publications (AIAP). When Dr. Wojciech reviews a product, he does so in a reference system that includes components from Ayon Audio, Soulution, and Harbeth. That is the level of scrutiny the Verse was held to, and we could not ask for a fairer or more thorough test.
What stood out was how Dr. Wojciech approached the Verse across all three of its roles. As a standalone DAC, he found it "fast, transparent, and selective" with dynamics he described as "almost explosive." Connected directly to a power amplifier as a preamp, the character shifted to something darker, warmer, and more grounded in the bass. And through headphones, the sound became what he called "creamy and rich" and "tangible, even silky." His conclusion was that each mode offers a genuinely equal choice depending on the listener's preference, and that in every configuration, the Verse delivers a mature, coherent sound.
One line from the review that stayed with us: against the backdrop of other manufacturers in this price range, the Verse "appears like a visitor from another planet." That means a great deal coming from a reviewer who has seen and heard just about everything in this segment.
Dr. Wojciech closed by saying that new manufacturers like LAiV are bringing technical solutions and a perspective on sound that "enriches us and puts us in a better place." We are deeply grateful for those words, and for the care and professionalism that went into this review.
